Mark A. Dilley
Founder and Co-Owner
Mark is founder and co-owner of MAD
Scientist & Associates with his wife, Chris.
He is a Professional Wetland Scientist
(Society of Wetland Scientists) and
Certified Ecologist (Ecological Society
of America) with over 20 years of experience
in wetland science, field biology, ecology,
and environmental studies. Mark is certified
through Ohio EPA’s QDC program for Level 3
fish studies and habitat assessments for
biological monitoring of wadeable streams
and rivers. He has worked on projects in 25
states, but focuses his efforts on his home
state of Ohio. (Make the sustainable choice:
Hire locally-grown consultants!). Mark
received his B.S. in Natural Resources in
Fisheries Management and his M.S. in
Environmental Science from The Ohio State
University, with an emphasis on wetlands.
His thesis research (Atrazine Fate and
Transport in a Created Flow-through Emergent
Marsh: An Examination of Key Processes) was
completed at the internationally-acclaimed
Olentangy River Wetland Research Park at
OSU.

Christine S. Dilley
Co-OwnerChris’
experience at an international research
institute and in community education
associations has been valuable in preparing
her to run our Administrative Operations. As
co-owner and major shareholder, she is
responsible for project/report reviews,
managing our office, human resources,
benefits, accounts payable/receivable,
billing, payroll, taxes, and our web site.

Lauren Harvey
Environmental Scientist
Lauren received her B.S. in Biology with a minor in Environmental Studies from Ohio University and her Masters in Entomology from Clemson University in South Carolina. Her degree focused on aquatic insect ecology, biodiversity, and systematics, and her thesis focused on the speciation and ecology of caddisflies. She has previously done research in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks, for Audubon’s Frances Beidler Forest, and the Smithsonian Institution. Lauren’s main interests include wetland/stream ecology and restoration, macroinvertebrate water quality monitoring, and environmental education.
