Project Description: |
The
MAD Scientist & Associates, team was
contracted to calculate VIBI scores to
resolve the anti-degradation categories of
two wetlands in properties along Grand Lake
near St. Mary’s, Ohio. Plots were configured
and data were collected according to Ohio
EPA’s VIBI field manual (Mack, 2004).
A series
of linked spreadsheets (example shown below)
was developed to facilitate the complex VIBI
data reduction process. This partially
automated process allowed for accurate
calculations and reduced the potential for
errors. The final VIBI results were submitted
to the client and then to Ohio EPA. The
results were favorably received, earning the
approval of the Ohio EPA. |
