Have you ever seen such a
casual, relaxed-looking frog? This gray tree
frog (Hyla versicolor) is one cool
customer, even in the dog days of summer. It was
photographed in early September on a willow
branch near the edge of the City of Columbus'
Pilot Wetland Mitigation Site on the west side
of town. In spring, it will breed in these
man-made wetlands, and soon after, another
generation of this native species will grace the
convenient nearby perches.
